From my understanding, like with anything in life, anything can be skewed one way or the other.
I believe that the dynamics of the internet can also be used for propaganda to maintain status quo (conflict perspective), which may be seen as something beneficial (structural functionalist perspective).
The internet also has a lot of garbage people take in as fact.
On the other hand, it's also very useful- job search, keeping in touch with friends, and research (educational search engines). Other than that, with anything else in life, I take with a grain of salt.
I usually question authority and people who own the power, wealth & control of any sort of mass media information.
