software suggestions! PLEASE?

hi!
im interested in knowing a software that will help me create
SHORT FILMS AND MOVIES
ive worked with
1)windows movie maker (vista , xp and windows 7,8)
2)sony Vegas

im comfortable with complex software and as many possible effects
please suggest
some FREE or TRIAL BASED software

im not much of a singer
but id like to sing and use a soft. to alter a bit of the quality
are there any such software available
?
that would alter sound technicalities?
