My neighbors cable line runs by my balcony. After slicing the cable i got basic channels but her Rogers phone, cable and internet was cut off. I found this when the cable guy showed up at my door 2 days later requesting to go on my balcony and fix the problem by removing my splitter.

Im no amateur on splicing cable and my splicing job was proper i made sure of it, so i don't understand why her services completely stopped working and i got basic cables.

Is it because she has the internet, the phone and cable going through that cable that it did that? or is it my splicing job defective?

Does anybody know anything about this would be great help.

Please save me the B.S. about its illegal to steel cable bla bla bla. thats a subject to debate and i don't have the time nor patience for it.
Is there any thing I can do to prevent this? Like buy a special kind of splitter?

It may have been a faulty splitter although in effect your neighbor's signal strength was cut by half and was not enough to keep all their services running
