Hello,
I have a 2000 ZX6R
So i took my bike to the shop to have a link taken out of my chain. I get the bike back and hit up the express way and as soon as i get on the on ramp, the gas acts EXACTLY as if it would if the bike ran out of gas. Except it does it ALL the time now. I can accelorate pretty quick in first, while spuddering, hit 2nd gear and max that gear out sometimes, and as soon as i hit 3,4,5, it bogs way down and spudders once in a while. It doesnt usually spudder until i hit about 20MPH in 1st.
I took my tank off, checked the voltage going into the fuel pump, 6 volts, pretty constant. Is 6 volts normal for a fuel pump? Also, the fuel pump doesnt turn on when i turn the key on, right before starting the bike. When the bike is running, i can feel air coming from the fuel pump, but it doesnt seem very strong. This was done with the tank off of the bike and while there was still gas in the system.
I pulled the plug wires that go down into the engine and i have spark on all wires. Hmmmm what else?
I read in my manual about a fuel pump relay, but i couldnt find it.
So i suppose my question is does this sound like a fuel delivery problem, fuel pump, fuel relay, or something else? Has Anyone else had this problem?
Any help would be awesome.
Thanks,
Shawn
