Hello,

I am trying to improve my 20 yard dash times, and I have encountered many problems.

First of all we start out in an "atheletic" stance, rather than a normal sprinters position. It's because not many times on the football field do we line up like that, and most certainly for me, at WR.

Here are some of my times

2.35 x2 (Unoffical, and I think the timer got it wrong, however two different people timed me back to back). (and Im only 14, and it would be crazy to think i set a state record).

2.55
2.57
2.59
2.66
2.68x2 (today after squats)
and various times higher.

Anyways, I have had many people evaluate me, and they said I need to work on running form (My arms aren't consistant enought) and my starts are TERRIBLE.

So in short..
I need.
*Tips on starting from an "Upright" position
*Tips on keeping arm form while running
*Tips on just plain out being faster

~All help is welcome, and constructive critisism, I will be video taping my sprints and looking over them soon, with a few coaches, but I would like to see a video if possible, about how to get successful starts.

~I have just started weight lifting, so I do know and realise times will improve, but I have been told I can shave my time consistantly down to the 2.5-2.6 range by people.

~I am 14 years old, so dont judge me like a pro sprinter or anything in that sorts. I go to a smaller school, so technecally I am faster then 80% of the upper classman

Just keep running and sprinting everyday. Play lot's of sport and work on building your leg muscles. Run laps around your park or your field. And have fun races with your friends or play tag games. (Man Hunt).

All this running will help you get faster.
