Starcraft 2 has really bad graphics? Please help me?

I have a new Imac. the graphics for all games, programs and everything have always been able to run at full highest settings. even another Blizzard game, World of Warcraft can have full 100% best graphics and run with absolutely yno lag. But i downloaded star-craft 2 and it recommends Low settings for everything and the game looks like total garbage. I know how to change the settings, but if i do the lag is so bad i can't play the game. What can i do to fix that?
 
check to see if your computer meets the minimum requirements. then, try reinstalling your graphics drivers or manually setting the graphics on a higher setting and see what happens. if your computer cant handle it, it cant handle it.
