Starting my period on holiday - what can I do to convince my mum?

So we worked the dates out, my cycle and all that, turns out im supposed to start my period 6 days into our 20 day holiday - i just wanted to die when i knew and i really want to know is there ANYTHING i can do to delay/stop my period happening on these dates, this is a once in a lifetime (possibly) trip to Florida and it's just not fair. my mum is on the pill, so she can't complain or anything, she can stop her periods whenever she wants.
however she believes i am too young to go on the pill, even though half the girls (or maybe more) are on the pill at my school in my year, and im 15!
Ive had my periods for almost 6 years now, so its not as though im new to this thing, its totally a part of my life now. It's a mere 19 days before we go on holiday and i was wondering anything that would stop my period or delay it or something just for these few days, not as a permanent thing,

Even if you did get on the pill, its possible you would still get your period while your body is adjusting to your new cycle. I can't think of any way you could delay your period in such short notice, so bring lots of tampons and try to enjoy yourself anyways.

As for getting on birth control you don't need your mothers permission. Go to a planned parenthood and you can get an appointment and a perscription for free, and its 100% confidential. I strongly urge you to do this if you are sexually active..or even thinking about having sex. Its always better to be prepared!

your period will only be on a couple of days for your trip. so it really doesn't seem as big of an issue as you are making it out to be. your trip is 20 days so you should be glad that it won't be on the whole time
