I'm sure this question has been asked before but I need help installing an after market stereo in my 95 Toyota Celica. I know the installation basics but can't find anywhere to tell me the silly stuff that only women seem not to know.
For example:
Do I need to disconnect my battery before I begin installation?
What are the risks of electrocuting myself?
Where should the receiver for my stereo remote be placed during installation so that it will pick up a signal?
And if there's anything else you could think of I'd love for you to throw it in there.
I don't know the model number on my stereo at the moment but I'm sure I could dig it up by morning. I just know that it's a Kenwood off the top of my head.

I'm 18 and this is the first work I've had to do on my vehicle on my own. Beings as I'm female I seem to have been born completely inept to anything regarding cars. :D
Please, any help would be appreciated. I would take it in to get it done but I figure I can do it on my own and I don't want to waste the money.
Thank you so much to any help you guys can give me.

no you don't need to disconnect the battery, ive installed thousands of radios and not once have i disconnected the battery, you wont get shocked i promise lol. the best way to do it tho is go to an install shop to have it done because without being taught how to do things in audio installations you can butcher it pretty bad not knowing what to do.
