first off Let me start out by telling you what kind of equipment I have.

Amp: Alpine MRP- F550
4 Channel
* 90 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms (125 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms)
* 250 watts RMS x 2 bridged output at 4 ohms (4-ohm stable in bridged mode)

Speakers: JL AUDIO VR-690 2- way speakers(powered by amp)
* 4-ohm impedance
* 2-80 watts RMS power range

Subwoofers: MTX AUDIO 4500 (Powered by Amp)
* Peak 450 Watts
* RMS 225 Watts

The Problem here is that I feel as if my subs are not thumping as much as a couple of my friends. How can I set the amp or get rid of the 6x9s to test if the subs can get more bass? Basically is my amp giving enough power? Do i need to do something here? If my amp is giving enough power than do I need bigger subs? What Watts of subs can i get that will be able to work loud and good with my amp? What do I need to do in order for my subs to hit harder? The 2 subs and the 2 6x9's are in the trunk in a custom box fitted just for my car.. I can have the 2 speakers running low freq as well.. but I just want them to hit hard!

Any help is appreciated thanks!
