subwoofers in car or suv?

would two alpine type r 12's in a ported box be louder in a suv ex. a explorer or the trunk of a car? ex. grand am... thanks
 
Hmmmm
I was always told the opposite. Get more direct sound waves if your box is not in the trunk.

But im not an installer.
 
it sound sound better in the suv than in the car..plus in the car, everything gonna be ratlin and all
 
they'll sound wonderful in SUV's..... sound waves have more room to travel per say.... the trunk of your car or cabin of your SUV is like a big sub box...
 
They'll be louder in the car because you're pressurizing a smaller space than that of an SUV.
