occurance concerning starter? I have not had any previous problems with the starter before now. I just got a new battery on my suv because it was bad and had died 3/4 times in one week. The battery man stripped and reconnected the wires into the clamps and was pushing the clamps onto the battery when the wires spark on the baterry and the engine could start up. My father who is a mechanic assumes the starter is hung, however when he takes it out and puts the starter on the battery with another ground, the starter works. He then thought it was the Solenoid, however feels that is fine as well. The starter for my truck is one where the solenoid can not be taken apart to see the peices inside. He took out the starter relay fuse and it still continues to try to start automatically without the key in the ignition at all. Right now he believes it is possibly the ignition switch or the "brain" of the vehicle which is keeping my truck from wanting to keep running. What do you think it possibly is? Thank you so much.
