I am taking in a giant rabbit, not yet fully grown. I wondered if anybdoy can advise on suitable accomodation for her? She cannot live in our house- she can come into our house on a daily basis, but she cannot have her own room/live inside or anything like that. I wouldn't 'buy' this type of rabbit, but she was going to go to the RSPCA as her owner couldn't look after her, so I would like to give her the best home I can.
I am really looking forward to her- but how can i keep her?
My husband can make hutches/runs, so what would be the best set up?
I was thinking a very large caged run (perhaps a good 6foot by 6 foot square and maybe 3 feet high? Does that sound okay? I also considered making a dog kennel type hutch to attach? The advise i got before was the living indoor space didn't have to be very large provided she had permanant 24/7 access to the run. It needs to be big enough for her to stand up in and stretch out, but whilst indoors she will be interested in eating & sleeping, so the space for hopping would be best in the run which she can go in all the time.
Also, she will be put into the run on the grass every day (already have this for our smaller rabbits) and brought into the house...we bring our other rabbits for a play inside everyday and for a run on the rgass everyday- we have plenty of time for them! thanks for your help!
