summer vacation in California?

Where would be a nice place to vacation in California over the summer? Close to LA, and near a nice beach. Or do you know of any nice beach homes for rent? Actually any suggestions would be wonderful!
We would like to stay there for about 2 months

I live in California and I can recommend you some places.

I would recommend Malibu or Santa Monica is you are looking for a nice beach. Santa Monica beach has a pier which has rides and attractions that you can enjoy and they also have some food stands. Near the beach (walking distance) there are a bunch of shops that you can look around. Many people like to bike, roller blade/roller skate on the sidewalks at santa monica too. However, Malibu has better waves if you are looking on doing some surfing.

I actually don't know any beach houses for rent but I am sure if you search it up there will be many options for you.

I suggest that you visit some theme parks if you enjoy them. Disneyland is a wonderful place but a little pricey at the moment. California is its neighbor and has more thrilling rides. I think both are fun though. Some other theme parks are Six Flags and Knotts Berry Farm if you are interested in roller coasters. Universal studios is another great one.

Universal studios is in Hollywood and its a nice place to visit. You can take a look at the Hollywood walk of fame and around the area.

There are some shopping centers in LA such a the Grove. I have never personally been there but I know it is quite large. I also believe there is a museum in LA. But again I have sadly not been there yet.

I think California is a great choice for a summer vacation. (I'm not just saying that because I live here) The beaches are always great during a hot day because the breeze is always relaxing. Have fun!
