Swimming building strength?

Ok so im 6foot 3inch and am about 150 pounds. Im a swimmer and i could be so much faster if i had more arm muscle. But i don't know what work outs and what to do. So i guess my point is like would doing different types of push ups help and i would also enjoy having a six pack. Im planning on lifting weights this summer but in till then what should i be doing to gain arm muscle and a six pack?(btw i swim after school everyday.)
