I Have an IBM centre with a Pentuim 4 chip(3 ghz). We are planning on puting in more memory and a video card at least 512 mb. Would this be enough for a blue ray player? I read somewhere online that I need a core 2 duo chip.
what you need is a free SATA port on the motherboard and a free SATA 15pin power connector on the PSU (otherwise there are 4pin molex to SATA converters) in case it's an internal blu ray drive.
the Pentium 4 (3Ghz) cpu is fast enough and 1GB memory is also sufficient (the type of video card doesn't matter. all modern video cards will do).
the ATI HD 4670 is a well affordable graphics card with a good performance that will match with the Pentium 4. it needs a PCI express x16 slot on the motherboard and the power supply must be able to power it (power consumption is 65W but need no extra 6pin PCIe connector).

core 2 duo is recemended, need more info on the video car and 2 or 3 gb of memory is fine, and good media player like nero or powerDVD (look on torrents if u want) and if you want my opinion for a video card less then a $100 then the ati HD 4650 is the way to go i was it and play 1080p
clips like trailers because i don't have a blu ray player exept for a ps3 and make sure your components can fit or compatiable onto the motherboard before u buy!
