Telus Motorola RAZR V3c activation trouble?

I got a motorola RAZR from a friend and i was going to switch it with my current phone apparently she called telus and told them to take off her plan and name off my new phone but when i went to switch from my new phone to my old phone it said "Sorry, this equipment (***********) is already in use", please help
 
Sometimes the system doesn't see the change for 24 hours. Call 611 from the Razr and tell the rep that you are buying this phone and need to know if the ESN is clear. If it isn't clear then your friend may have not made the call to TELUS yet.
