...any type of time off request? i live in florida The company I work for is forcing us to use our vacation time if we put in any type of time off request. Even jury duty can they do legally do this?

I don't even get either vacation time or sick days. In today's economy we have to be glad we even have jobs.

check your employee policies handbook, it should state how vacation time is to be used.
Not all companies pay for jury duty, so if your company does not pay you for your jury duty but you want to get paid for that time away from work, then yes, you have to use your vacation time. My company is the same unfortunately

Sure they can. There is no requirement that a company provide vacation time as a benefit. It is a major expense offered to be competitive and also for the sanity of their employees.

However, as an employee's vacation time accumulates, it becomes a huge potential liability which is typically managed by several rules, such as limiting the total accumulation one person can have.

They are bound only by the agreement they have with you as an employee. This is what the "company policy" is. Read it, learn it, love it.

Remember company policy/employee handbook is NOT written in stone.
It can be changed at any time and that's what your employer did.
