The difference between Styrofoam and foam?

My friend asked me a question about how much a foam board is and I corrected her calling it Styrofoam that is in between the 2 papers to make the board. I also said that Styrofoam is used for shipping protection like those shipping popcorn/peanuts. Foam is caused by the movement of soap (sometimes) and it is also used in coffee "foam". Who is right, is it a foam board or Styrofoam board?
