the Divx codec made all my videos on my sony vegas project go offline?

i downloaded the Divx codec so i could play a video and hopefully use it in Sony vegas 7 pro, but i tried opening up vegas, and all the video files were offline, i tried adding the same video files back, and all that would come up was the audio, no video, so i uninstalled all the divx stuff, and it still didn't bring em back
