can I get over it? Im scared? i was feeding him, he is tied up in the yard ..and my old neighbor came up to ask questions about other neighbors and to gossip...soooo

i told her to stand back and not get too close to our yard bc my dog would jump on her

she kept yapping and yapping and then asked if he'd bite so i was like YEAH, IF HE DONT KNOW YOU..then he walked up to her and jump on her..slicing her wrinkled old flesh deep

she walked away after i got him and she said she was going to the doctor and that she never shuda came over ...she was being nosy and never shuda came in the yard

so she went to the doc and the pound came and took him. it was sad, i was crying. the pound agreed with me when i said she kept walking closer. I have been crying and worrying. he is in the auarantine and i think its her fault..she had no business coming in my yard to ask questions after i warned her. i want to get over thinking about how he kept trying to get near me and was howling when they put him in the truck. please, don't be rude if you are going to reply. i just need some encouraging words to help me get over it

Sounds to me like something is missing from this story. The animal control is not going to come and seize a dog just for scratching someone because it jumped on them. They have to have better resons. Maybe they feel that the conditions your dog is living in are not safe. Animals should NOT be tied outside in all the elements without proper care and shelter. Its possible that when they came to your home they didn't like its living conditions. I'm glad to hear that someone who wants a dog and knows how to properly care for one will be able to give your dog a better life and a new chance.

Something is missing in this story. If the dog was up to date on Rabies vaccines then you should have had a home quarantine. Only unvaccinated dogs get taken to the pound for a ten day Rabies observation. Why tied in the yard? That only frustrates the dog and will make them mean.
