The gadgets on my windows 7 laptop have disappeared?

The gadgets (weather, currency, etc.) no longer appear on my screen. Instead they are replaced with a small information (i) symbol. I tried deleting them and putting them back but that doesn't change it. I recently installed kaspersky security, but I didn't notice if that's what took the gadgets away. What should I do? Thanks.
