According to multiple websites, bittorrent works by taking a file from one server, downloading it to several "peers", then using those peers to share the files with other "peers", including you. So let's say I download bittorrent and decide to download a 100% virus free torrent called potato. Potato is legal, free, and was created by Tom. However, it is huge, so it is a torrent. I download the torrent Potato, but a peer (Bill) who shares the file has a computer loaded down with viruses. Do I receive Bill's viruses because he shares a piece of the file with me? Or, like Tom, do I get a completely virus-free torrent and go on my merry way?
