the industrial revolution, the steam engeine was intorduced. today, what is a boat/ship that is sorta like the steam engeine, but improved? i do not know anything about boats, and im stuck!

The old timey trains worked the same way. The underlying principle is to use heat to heat up water and change it into steam. The high pressure of the steam then turns a turbine and produces mechanical work.

Actually most of United States' power is produced in the same manner: but not on a boat. The traditional CCHP cycle burns coal to create heat, then creates high pressure steam that turns turbines!

And a nuclear submarine operates in a similar fashion, in that there is basically a turbine that spins around very fast and produces thrust. The power to the turbine comes from heat from a nuclear reaction.
