Things that make you go GRRRRR.... (Part 2)

Going away for 4 days and leaving a half drunk cup of tea in my warm room! Ick! It was a good job I left the air vent open a bit, otherwise I suspect the smell might have knocked me out as I opened the door. Of course it wasn't as bad as when I did the same thing going up to Orkney for a month. I came back and there was some really interesting green, fluffy stuff growing out of the top of the mug (and the smell was interesting too!).

If you ever visit for an SG1 fest. I'm a watch you like a hawk and make you drink every single drop of any beverage you happen to have.

Aww that sucks ass (((hugs))) You'll get there at some point though...I mean, I think you said you were like 65 kilograms, and you can deadlift over 100! You gained that much strength already, you'll get there.

Thanks! I could probably get down to below the 63kg to make that weight division as I'm only about 1.5kg away but have noticed that I just can't do a proper squat and keep good form even at moderate weight so it would be stupid to do a competition and only be able to do two of the three required lifts properly. Been too obsessed with getting bigger numbers, and sure I could get a reasonable score for my age group but know I would be cheating myself for false glory

the runs i think the magnesium tablets have helped with the cramp problem but just replaced it with an equally bad, or in some ways worse problem. annoyingly i tried cutting one in half today to reduce dosage and it crumbled to pieces

Grrr, Anti-freaking-foodie! She's messed up the finances! I'm dealing with everything else over here and we agreed before we came away that she would pay for everything project related and claim it back when we got home. To do this she got a cash advance. She tells me today, when I tried to give her some receipts in exchange for cash, that she is almost out of money. We've still got at least a week here, and food and travel expenses to deal with. I didn't want to take out any more 'spending' money as I had budgeted for what I had to last till we went home because I don't want to faff around changing money back. Now because she is too much of a spineless wimp to tell me she's out of money, it looks like I will have to. If she'd told me last week, the boss could have sorted her out with another cash advance. Added to that I had to get up at 4am to spend the day travelling to an out of town sample site with her to collect beetles and, because she didn't eat anything or take more than a sip of water, she started to feel ill and run out of energy at 11am.

Me too, but in Anti-foodie's case, I can't believe she has the critical thinking ability to do a science phd. I haven't seen her in the lab, but she doesn't seem capable of thought at all!

My sister used to be like that, her head's a bit more screwed on now but considering how much of a successful career person she is, sometimes I still wonder. Chalk & cheese. Blows parental importance in kids out the water

You need to sit this girl down and sort her out before you lose the plot. Spoon feed her if you have to. Buy her a note pad and crayon to keep account of her spending. Punch her in the face until she sees it your way. Make sure you tell your boss when you get back how pathetic and useless she is in the field and make your boss promise to never send you on a field trip with her again. Threaten violence if you have to.

The thing is, I am spoon feeding her (or doing everything myself). The problem is she's too much of a spineless wimp to admit when she doesn't understand something or when she has a problem!

I'm mighty tempted to punch her in the face, I have to tell you! I was remarkably restrained today when she told me about the money. She started with the wibbly lip thing and I didn't head butt her into next week!

I'm trying to work out the best way to tell the boss how useless she is without coming across as a total bitch! I'm also a bit worried because the boss has suggested coming back here for a week towards the end of August, and I don't think I can handle sharing a hotel room with her for a week - heck 3 nights was bad enough (I may have to resort to the threat of violence - plus I know where the boss lives)!

Thank you for the hug - hugs back!

It's business. If she's not right then bump her. It's what you do. You should have done it long ago.
Get someone who can pull their weight and have a laugh with

Not so easy with this project as it's only an 8 week run. I'm also sure the boss has never seen her outside of a lab, and I suspect she functions ok in the relatively safe and secure surrounds of a lab Plus the beetles we're collecting from around Sweden are for her phd, so she really needs to be the one collecting them. I need to sort myself another job out in the next couple of weeks so I don't have to come back with her and she can mess up all on her own!

I always has a hug for you Frodo ... But I actually meant spoon feed her. Like get a bowl of cereal and shovel it down her throat so she has the energy to get through the day without her blood sugar crashing from over exertion.

As a side note. The so called "bad" fat is an essential part of the diet in moderation. The brain needs it to function properly. So force her to eat a damn burger or a deep fried Mars bar.

Oops! Sorry for the misinterpretation there - I have been up since 4am and only had 3hrs sleep last night - added to that I'm the one doing all the thinking over here! Lol at the idea of shovelling food into her pathetic wibbly mouth, even more so at it being burger or deep fried Mars bar! I've told her that she needs more fat (actually any fat would be good) in her diet, maybe it's time I showed her...
