Rally good morning sessions that leave you feeling fresh and energised for the rest of the day.

Also driving through jesmond listing to 'owner of a lonely heart' full blast singing our hearts out with the windows down. Would not have thought it was a car full of heavyweight fighters!

I can do HTML!

To be honest, I did a weekend course in C at a time when I had loads going on in life. so probably didn't have enough time to really concentrate on what I was doing. I have also since spoken with others who did the course and apparently the instructor got some really bad reviews about it - so it might not have been just me! And we didn't do any prep work just launched into coding.

I haven't really bothered with programming since, although a friend of mine was going to teach me Fortran but we haven't got round to it yet. I may start playing with BASIC at some point.

^this guy has some pretty good tutorials, so you might wanna check him out as well. he does a lot of languages, including python, xhtml/css, c#, c++, java, etc

be glad i only have a high school degree in computing. have you ever seen the stuff phds write when casually talking about their chosen subjects?

Mate i know nothing about that kind of thing. Literally what is written above could be : hbibuvyfcvugbiuhoibg. I'm sure a PHD would look just as dumbfounding to me.

Anyway off for cocktails with the girls now (I swear I am manly) apparently they're going to get me to talk about feelings and stuff, yeah right. But a good nit out with good mates is my

Nobody uses D. Yes it does actually exist.

Mine neither. But I was bored at the weekend. I got through 3 whole tutorials and my brain is intact. Well not any more damaged than before.

It is indeed. I'm confused about this whole concept of pointers. I don't see the point. I suppose it'll make sense when I write something more involved. I've dabbled in Turbo Pascal and Object Pascal in college. I did pseudo code and flow charts in high school and tried to learn Basic on the BBC Mirco. I also tried to learn Basic on the Atari 65 XE and Quick Basic for MS-DOS 6.22. That didn't go very well. I can do some HTML with CSS and Javascript. I dabbled with Python. But got bored.

I think C will be a challenge.

Yes the tutorial's I have been following have a few mistakes in them I've had to investigate and fix my self. Very annoying. Fortran is used for a lot of statistical stuff. You'd like it. Very orderly and OCD

Students cannot write!

i'm talking about actual phd graduates, not students. god my brain has hurt when reading that stuff.

I'm not remotely OCD, whatever gave you that idea...

(runs off to check her dvds are in alphabetical order, her cds are in artist alphabetical order and then by release date, splits her washing into colours, temperatures and with/without fabric softener)

I was thinking about Fortran because it seems to be used for a lot of oceanography stuff.

Phd graduates are career students. Always looking for a grant from somebody to go poking around at the fabric of existence. They should get a real job!

For a nutrition module I handed in a piece of paper with "you don't eat enough" written on. Lecturer thought it was hilarious, I think I am hillarious and I can only possibly get a first for this.

Training hard. Stepped up my training a few weeks ago in preperation for a comp so I'm now doing 4 sessions a week and trying to get a few hours extra in with a couple guys outside class times. Improvement in my game as I've got more confident has been unbelievable and its just generally made me feel great
