i am a student, and wish to buy a bike to use to get to school, and to generally get around, on road/off road on paths and across parks. is it worth splashing out for a hybrid bike, or would a mountain bike do? (mountain bikes seem generally cheaper)? the only thing is that i live in an area which has a few quite steep hills. is it therefore worth waiting for the money to get a hybrid bike? would a mountain bike work well, as i am reasonably fit? also, does anyone know where i can buy a cheap bike/a good second hand bike near nw4? preferably less than £100/£150?
