This may seem more of a rant than a question, but seriously, how could anyone find such a symbolic moment funny!?

Here, relate it to this: A grown man loses his family and is crying at their funeral. Would anyone dare crack a smile in any way, shape, or form that would make this man feel in any way inadequate?

The Florida Gators to Tim Tebow is his family. Seeing him cry on the sidelines when Alabama beat Florida 32 - 13 in the 2009 SEC Championship game didn't only show the world his love for the sport or the pain he felt seeing it end, but showed us all what true passion is. Most of you all know that this Saturday will be his final game in a Florida Gators uniform. Whether you choose to love or hate the Gators, show a little decency for a man who has achieved so much.

I find it highly immature and the epitome of horrible sportsmanship to see any fan throw crude and rude remarks at Tim Tebow. I am 100% sure that you would not even think twice if your team lost an incredible game and one of your own was shown in tears.

For some reason, everyone who cares about college football and is not a Gator fan despises the Gators. Why this is, I don't know. I encourage all, whether Alabama fans, Texas fans, Norte Dame, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, South Carolina -- where ever your flag is planted, I encourage you all to step forward and provide us with your opinions.

For any who are curious or disagree, with the man and his family comparison, I was trying to show Tebow losing his family, i.e. the Gators and the effect. It may have been out of place or too extreme but it was the only thing that came to mind at the time.
 
Well one reason is because it was plain stupid. 'Bama had the game in their pocket an hour before the end of the game, if he wants to pick a time to cry, cry when you realize you got your butt kicked. Another is grown 'men' don't cry, teams have been blown out in the SUPER BOWL, possibly the biggest sporting event and players don't cry! It's unmanly, you don't cry after every loss, that shows immaturity, you stand up, be a man, accept it and put this behind you, because now NFL teams know Tebow gets visibly shaken after every loss. Good lord if he ends up on a team like the Lions his tear glands will be in for a work out. I will say some football players cry, but it's because they're retiring, or leaving college, no Tebow was crying because they LOST. Now if he cried for any other reason then I wouldn't have said anything.

All I have to say about Tim Tebow is I admire him as a person standing up for his religion no matter how much criticism he will get and a football player. I almost cried this year because my hs football team did not make it to the playoffs because an incident happend to a coach the beginning of the season and messed us up.

I HATED Tim Tebow because he wasnt a traditional QB and you could basically play anyone in the type of system, but over the past years he has shown so much emotion and heart and now I am a Tebow fan. Not just for his on the field traits, but for his attitude and caring. He is a great player and I turned off 'Around The Horn' on ESPN the other day when they were mocking him. I dont believe that he will be a great pro player, but I hope he gets drafted and gets paid to do what he loves. He deserves it
 
I totally agree with you 100%. I am not a Florida fan, but I almost felt like crying myself after seeing Tebow in tears. Tebow is so awesome as a player and as a person. He can't help that the media is continually all over him, which is the main reason fans don't like him. They get tired of hearing how great he is, so finally they turn against him. But it's all true, Tebow really is that great. I hope he goes out with a bang, having a career day against Cincinnati.
 
What exactly is this supposed dream that Tebow lost? The man won 2 National Championships, Heisman trophies, and you can count on one hand how many times he's lost a game in College Football. What he expected to win every game he plays for 4 years, win 4 straight National Titles and also somehow beat an Alabama team that outplayed his gators? Somehow I seriously doubt that. I'll agree you have a point about his passion and dedication to Florida football, but you're missing something else. Tim Tebow knows it's over for him. Traditional quarterbacks reign supreme in the NFL, not guys like Tebow. Unlike College Football, the NFL is faster, more intense, and you don't get to play defenses which allow you to tuck and run whenever you so choose. He will need to redefine himself once drafted or he'll suffer the same fate as Vince Young, injured and down in the dumps by his second year. This means learning a comprehensive offensive system, becoming a pocket passer, and learning to control his emotions better. Thats my 2 cents on Tim Tebow. As for the crying incident, I agree it was symbolic. It symbolized that an era of dominance in College Football had come to a close for Tebow and the Gators. Not very fitting for such an era to go out like a whimper instead of a roar. I'd cry too. I saw no problem with it, completely understandable. Now the real challenge comes for #15. He's got Vegas odds of making it in the NFL, but the kid does have a ton of heart and fight so who knows. But it's pretty safe to assume his career at the pro level will pale in comparison to his decorated college career.
 
I agree with you 100%. I am so aggravated, tired, and annoyed with people putting him down because he cried. Tebow cried because he has so much passion for the game and for the team, and Saturday really hurt. Everything the Gators have worked for this year slipped away. Tim, being the natural leader that he is, felt responsible. He probably blames himself and feels like he let everyone down, especially when the Gators were about to score and possibly come back in the first part of the 4th quarter and he threw the interception down in the red zone. One of the reasons Tebow decided to stay at Florida for his senior year was so that he could "do it again" (win another SEC and national championship), and also have Florida's first undefeated season, like the Gators were hoping for last year before Ole Miss.

Even if people aren't Gator fans, I don't understand what they have against Tim Tebow, other than maybe that he has beaten their favorite team. Tebow is genuine. He is as great a person off the field as he is on it. I have the utmost respect for him, and I will always love him.

Losing is part of football. Nobody is going to win all of their games. Tebow seems to have a hard time understanding this. lol. I'm not Tebow's biggest fan, but he does show more emotion for the game than I've seen in a while. He just needs to learn how to lose because he will lose lots more in the NFL. And plus, he acted like it was his last game. They still have the Sugar Bowl. lol
 
I understand what you are saying, but Tebow seems like the guy that would be upset, but would say, "Well only one team can win, we played our hearts out, they just wanted it more." He's already got a Heisman and 2 Championships let Alabama or Texas win one.

I still think he's a great player though, and hopefully he can have some success in the next level.
 
ok, thats a little extreme about the family thing but youre right. its ridiculous. i mean, you see people cry at the end of their careers and the last time they are on a team that they had memories with. i mean brett favre is a perfect example. he did something great for the franchise. sure he came back, but he originally wanted to stay retired. the gm and the vikings convinced him to come back (i know the gms daughter and met him). i mean, people cry when their frickin team looses that they arent even on. then they decide that its ok to laugh at him? im disgusted! i mean, im a vols fan so i dont care for the team at all, but still. there are things that are ok at certain times and making fun of a kid who has done so much is not one of them.
