My timing belt broke and i was told that my car had an interference engine which means the pistons were probably messed up. how much would it roughly cost to get it fixed?

Hi- If you were going slow, (low rpm's) You may be ok. You need someone you trust to tell you what's what. If you don't have a mechanic you trust, try http://cartalk.com/content/mechx/ where you can find mechanics in your area recommended by customers. I had a broken timing belt changed on an Escort which is NON interference and the mechanic kept telling me there was internal damage. (There wasn't) So I hope you have or find a mechanic that will screw you the least! I also agree with edya19's assessment.. Best of luck!
