Tobacco Laws in the State of NJ?

I live in the state of New Jersey, and I was pretty sure that the age for buying tobacco was 19, and that you were carded when buying it if you looked to be under 30. I recently saw a sign in Rite Aid saying "No tobacco under 30", when the same sign usually says "No tobacco under 19". Did I miss something? Did the smoking laws change?
 
In most states smoking is permitted at 18 you could ask at the store but it's either 18 or 19 for sure there's something wrong with that store no laws were made lately
