Together, do Mass Effect, Star Wars, and Star Trek make up the "big three" in sci-fi?

There use to be a "big two" in sci-fi, but now it seems like Mass Effect has made it into the "big three", even having its own movie in production. Many people consider one of the other to be better than the rest? Do these three sci-fi universes together make up the big three? Which one is really the best, most well-done universe?
 
What the hell man, no that's not cool. You compare Mass Effect to these old, well established franchises? So what if a film is being made. So many video games have had video adaptations, most suck.

What about Battlestar Galactica, Babylon 5, the Alien franchise?
