Im not sure where, but ive seen indoor grass pads for dogs to go inside.

Puppy training mats can be used all around the house. They are suitable for little dogs and can be purchased on the internet. I think the average price is about £2 for 4 they are well worth the money and do work as my dogs have used them before. they absorb all the moisture and keep everything clean.

Having been in the same situation as you are now, I completely understand your reasoning for wanting to train them to go indoors. It's not easy to do with adult dogs who are used to going outside, but much easier with a dog who has accidents indoors than one who will hold it forever!

Have your dogs chosen a particular place indoors where they like to go? If so, get some "WEE-WEE PADS" and put them on the floor in those places. Then try to catch them going on the pad and immediately reward them with treats and praise.

If they have chosen a place to go that is inconvenient, then GRADUALLY move the pad (by inches only) every day until they are going where YOU want them to go.

I had one 16 yr old cocker learn in a single day to go on the pads only. I am now in the process of training an 11 yr old who is so well housebroken that I know this training is going to be a long process.

Please remember that all dogs still need exercise and fresh air, so if you cannot walk your dogs, please find someone who can take them out for that necessary stimulation. Dogs need the physical and sensory stimulation which only an outdoor environment can provide.

Who are you screaming at, by using all caps it denotes screaming and yelling and also against yahoo's tos.

Just make them go out and dry them when they come in

You need to get your dogs used to going outside or they will never learn,
if its raining put a raincoat on get all excited and go outside persuading your dogs out with a treat, this should work give them a treat, make it all exciting them go back indoors and shut the door, after only a little time let them in a praise, that shows them being outside without you is good too, keep this up, it should work, increasing the time they go outside to the toilet,

good luck! :)

I am very sorry for your pain and disability, it has to be said. However, I'm seriously concerned that you actually want this!! Dogs should pooh and pee outside. And I guarantee you, if you start to allow them to do their business indoors, it won't be confined to pee pads, litter trays, newspaper etc. It will end up with them going anywhere in the house and within days, you will not only be living in a very smelly house, but tearing your hair out over having to bend down and clean up the mess, as is obviously already happening. And that will hurt every bit as much as having to let them outside. When it's wet outside, you have to insist they go out. If they are adults, it's not that difficult to work out their habits - adults on two meals a day should normally only need to pooh four times. Peeing should only be necessary every 4 hours. And if you want them to go through the night, feed them their last meal around 5 pm latest, and put them out at 10 pm. You might consider employing some youngsters to take them out for regular exercise, to minimise the need for eliminating around your property during the day.

The bare truth - if you want an animal that uses a litter tray etc. you need to switch to keep cats.

ps Pssst - don't shout!!

IMO no dogs should be trained to be peeing/pooping INSIDE the house. You continue to take them outside to potty. If you want a litter pan, then get a cat. Dogs should be eliminating OUTSIDE no matter what size they are.
