What do you guys think?
They are 8 games over .500, but really nobody really talks about them because they play in the AL East.
Look at their lineup, they are young (for the most part) and have so much potential.
Travis Snider, Yunel Escobar, Adam Lind, JP Arencibia, Jose Bautista, Aaron Hill, Vernon Wells, Fred Lewis, John Buck, Jose Molina, Edwin Encarnacion.
Aside from guys like Buck, Molina, Wells, and Encarnacion these guys are in their mid to late 20s. They are the best team in baseball in the second half, and have the most home runs in the majors by a lot. Anyone on this team can go deep. Just imagine if Hill and Lind were having years like last year, their offense would be way better. Jose Bautista has really come a long way, has a good chance at leading the league in home runs. Who would have ever thought that?
Look at their starting pitching.
Marcum, Morrow, Romero, Cecil, (McGowan, Litsch, Mills, Rycezinski)
Those top 4 guys are still really young and have all qualified as really good pitchers. All of them have flirted with no hitters this year, (Marcum just threw a one hitter tonight.) They have great stuff and bright futures ahead of them. Although the 5th spot is a little bit of a challenge with McGowan's career at risk, Litsch is out for half a year, and we haven't seen a whole lot from the two other guys. But remember we still have Kyle Drabek who will make it to the big leagues soon!
Just look at this roster, the talent, the depth they will have. I see them finishing third in the division this year, not too far from a wild card spot. They still have a lot of work to do, but maybe in the next few years we can see a new AL East division winner. Yankees, Rays, and Red Sox fans better watch their backs. I am being serious here.
