What are torrent files? I want to maybe use them to download music. I currently use mediafire and download .rar and .zip files. I don't know if I should use torrents or not. If i should, why should I use them. If not, why not? What should I use to open them also, like a bittorrent program like that.
Pros and Cons please?

I don't think you should. First of all, they take a longer time to extract (or whatever the term is) then .rar and .zip files, and second of all, .rar and .zip files are more well known, widely used, and reliable. With .torrent files, you don't know what could probably come out.

Firstly torrents are like links that will download a file you want.

to open a torrent file you will need a program like utorrents/ bit torrent...etc

using torrents are risky as you have to know which ones to use and which ones not to, as some maybe disguised as viruses. Torrents are good for easy access for what you want.

Hi, torrents are different from .rar. Don't let the size of the .torrent file fool you; a 2GB game won't be 20KB compressed. Download the client here: bittorrent.com and update it. Go to File > Open and get the torrent you downloaded. Wait a while. Make sure there are more than 5 seeds. Seeds are people who already downloaded the file. You're using their bandwidth to download the file. So basically, the more seeds, the faster download. Leeches are peers. Peers are downloading the file with you, and they slow you down. If there are low seeds and high peers, or a high ratio of seeds and peers, look for another file.
