Just saw this on another forum:

Also I withdraw my previous comments about wanting the army to get involved. Checked the thread on arrse and its the most racism I've heard in a long time

I''m happy enough anyway.

Nope, they involve much more research into contraception and protection, and providing all pubescents (when they hit puberty) with a compulsory five-year contraceptive implant. After the five years they have it removed, but it delays the possibility of getting pregnant for that time. They can also, after five years, have a new one inserted.

Obviously dependent on technology but it wouldn't be much harder to co-ordinate than a vaccination programme.

Nuclear waste isn't a huge issue - firstly it can be recycled, secondly it's not really that dangerous (despite the scaremongery tabloid sensationalism about it). Seriously, we're pretty robust against radiation, unless a plant goes critical the risk is less than the cosmic radiation we receive daily.

Nope, just bring in the option of going out in a drug-filled paradise haze instead - better yet start actually funding research into treating senility with even a tenth of the money cancer research gets and it might stop being such an issue.

Which is how it should be done. Sadly not enough people do this.

Late twenties.

I've got no unwillingness to part with money if I'm getting something I value out of it. I certainly don't feel entitled to someone else's work without paying for it. If they're asking for too much - I won't buy it. This is a stunning idea which seems to have bypassed not only the rioters, but a small (but significant) number of internet users, who then try to justify it by saying the content creators are too greedy.

Simple answer - if they're too greedy then don't buy the thing! Just because they're overcharging does not entitle you to take their work for free.

Actually most wouldn't. It's estimated that only about a third of people will take something for free if they can get it as easily through a legitimate method. It's only pirate bay and other fanatics of their ilk who don't believe that people should be rewarded for their work.

Education hasn't improved. Discrimination has.

So...who's going to supervise them while they're on this hard labour or community service?

You're stifling my pessimism

Actually not a bad idea. May have found a health secretary for when I'm overlord.

Im not fussed about radiation to people more the damage dumping it in the sea might do to ocean life. If you're right about waste mangament however I need to revise my position.

How would that solve the problem of having a larger aged population though?

Indeed

I checked the age next to your name before I posted my last one it just didn't seem to fit. Sorry dude.

But then I won't get to play! I agree with with what you're saying though and I don't support piracy as a whole. Its one of those problems where you think its doesn't do much harm but when everyone thinks like that...

Sounds familiar, I remember there being a restuarant that elt you pick how much to pay them and was pretty succesful. Maybe people are nicer than I give credit for.

I'm never going to say my qualifications don't count for anything and I see far less racism and homophobia among the people at my college and social area than I do among adults and particuarly the elderly.

Fire at a bar by Southsea pier was quickly said not to be linked but apparently a jobcentre in Portsmouth is also on fire. My mum's jumping all over the place over it anyway.

edit: Also fun:

On the journey home, there were Police cars flying all over the place, didn't seem to know which direction to go in. King's Heath Birmingham is effectively closed this evening. Casino my brother was in last night was turned over (and no, not by him (or so he says)).

I think we all know how to solve this problem. We need to stop poor people from breeding. I am only joking a little bit.

I seem to do that to people lately.

Hah! I'm afraid I'll be there long, long before.

It wouldn't - what it would solve is the problem of having a helpless, senile aged population and allow them to still function and be cognizant of the world around them. There could still be jobs available - particularly teaching jobs for example, and plenty more contributions that could be made. Failing that (or possibly better) there would be the option of enjoying retirement as something other than a person with their mind rapidly disintegrating.

I'm used to it. At least you didn't mistake me for a boy - that's the usual slip.

It leads to a mentality where people think they should have things for free, because 'it doesn't do much harm'. Most people who pirate software won't shoplift, but some percentage will. Most people who shoplift won't break and enter to steal, but as we can see some percentage will. Slippery slope.

For inspiration, check out the riot wombles. Now that's much more telling about the average person than the rioters.

I agree on the second. On the first I'm not saying that your qualifications don't count for anything, just that the education system has not improved. In many ways it has worsened. See how many practical skills you can learn at university these days.

Must be fun at parties huh?

This is when I warn you about the alliance I have with the fish. We'll see how long your reign lasts when the land is nibbled from under you!

Another good plan. Shotguns would free up space though.

You're a woman? Mind. Blown.

Good point

Heh

Another good point as much as I don't want to admit it. Although you then have the problem of choosing between only letting people do courses that will get have a high percentage chance of being useful in the future or letting them have control to do what they want. Pragmatically I suppose the former is the only option

Just got shown this:

I do. Information based economies are even worse. They benefit only those with money. Small businesses are crowded out of the market by large incumbents. New starts are prevented from entering the market by use (abuse rather) of copyright and patent laws.

This is the utter shambles the USA is in today and why the music and movie industries cry wolf every time someone innovates a way to operate without them.

Spotify recently entered the US market. It was sued for patent infringement within two weeks. Typically patent infringement cases cost around US$10 million, minimum, to defend. It's normally cheaper to settle. Which means a company can file a totally bogus case and still profit. Information economies lead to what is basically legalised extortion.

Solution! If a mod can delete my previous 2 posts on this that'd be lovely.
Also in the list at number 12 is a Cold Steel weapon disguised as a pen. I'm almost certain a few of the items on sale on amazon are illegal.

I dunno those metal sticks you use as a keyring count as an offensive weaopn (and were a bit lower on the list) so I would of thought the pen would be too. From the description it doesn't actually function as a pen, the nib bit is just a disguised blade.

Indeed. I wish people would stop comparing this to the 1980's. It's nothing like what happened back then. People were living in real poverty in the 80's and minority groups were continually harassed by the police for no good reason. That is not what has happened here.

One man was shot dead by Police. The family held a peaceful protest which has been hijack by thugs. That is it. There's no political argument, no argument about jobs or education or anything else. It's just thugs intent on causing as much damage as possible.

Amazon always takes a couple days to shift my books and games so I'm guessing it'll take a while to arrive. I agree with you though its stupid that they wouldn't notice the spike in sales and still ship them. Then again the fact they're selling stuff like the weapon at number 1 is stupid anyway.
