Tottenham Riots

Well, so far this has been pretty boring but now things are finally getting more interesting:

Yeah, lets shoot rioters, what have they ever done for society eh?

Shooting is a bit much...but I am all for kicking nine shades of crap out of them, or better yet a custodial sentence plus a large lien against their property and compulsory community service.

When the news says the police now have to foot the bill for damages in the riots does that money actually come from the police or do they have their own insurers covering it?

It was a headline last night that says insurance companies and those without insurance can claim their damages back from the police

Wow - what is wrong with this picture??

Of course you realise now that in future any legitimate protests will be crushed early on to prevent further outbreak and costs....way to go rioters, you have set the civic rights movement back about 100 years

innit. More fun was Cameron saying the police messed up by not having enough officers on the streets on the first day but at the same time telling Boris the cuts are still going ahead. It really does seem like a thankless job being a cop.

I'm fuming about Cameron's stupid slopey shouldered attempt to deflect the blame.

Cameron "We are still able to surge as many police officers onto the streets as we have in recent days ..." for how long? the Police are people not robots!! Ok, they have calmed for now, but how often does he expect to pull every Police officer off leave for?

If you need to do that then you do not have enough cover to take on these issues.

Cameron: "far too few police" on the streets. http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2010/sep/15/theresa-may-cut-police-budget-without-violent-unrest
maybe the police cuts were a bad idea then? #fb

I'm sure the rioters will try and claim it as another "Hack" from them. Pathetic wasters can't even hack properly with their lame DDoS attempt on RIM for cooperating with the Police.

Is there one to get Cameron's income reduced, and get the Police income increased.

Do you think that this guy has a point i don't think my son would ever behave like these rioting idiots because besides the fact that he has been brought up to have good morales and respect he would be to scared of what might happen if i found out about his unruly behavior.

I think people need to shut the hell up bitching about politicians all the time and actually do something. The uk is a country where you're lucky if half the population turn out to vote but then everyone rips the messed up system when bad things happen. They all act like politician is a seperate class of person when really they're there because we put them there. There's a huge amount of poltical apathy here with a lot of people hating anything to do with politics expecting the system to magically become awesome without accepting that takes a level of commitment and effort on their part.
Hell we had the referendum on the alternative vote and from the people I spoke to voted no they almost always did it because they wanted to piss off Clegg. The others did it because they saw a mean poster. When you're poltical input is controlled by one picture of by a personality you need to kick yourself up the arse and try learning something before you palm the blame to someone else. No one in Parliament is there without consent from the public and until the public start to actually take an interest in politics and accept a level of responsibility nothing's going to change.

Yeah that probably had nothing to do with the letter really...

I had to laugh a David Cameron on the news today. He claimed the whole thing was the fault of the police for letting it all get out of hand because they didn't put enough officers on the streets. Makes sense to forge ahead and cut their budgets anyway then.
