I train students for a trucking company, and one of them hit a deer while in operation. My company payed for the damages to the truck, but when I asked for compensation for the time it took to repair the truck they only offered 50 dollars a day. Unfortunately that doesn't even cover my truck payments, insurance payments, and personal bills for that week that I was unable to work.

What I am asking is what legal actions can I take to recover the loss of wages I suffered due to the damages that were made by the student (of whom is, in my opinion, considered a representative of the company I am contracted to.)?

Furthermore, am I also entitled to any compensation for the stress that I am being subjected to by my company for the refusal of my request that I am given more money to cover my bills. As this is very stressful.

And if I were to take this to court am I entitled to any punitive damages to ensure that my circumstances are not experienced by anyone else and that my company would find it more financially affordable to be responsible when one of their students/representatives damages a trainers truck?
