The transmission in my automatic 1997 Dodge Dakota was rebuilt around 150,000miles. It is at 183,000 miles now. Before it was rebuilt it was a nice, smooth, barely noticeable shift. After being rebuilt, it shifts hard. And I mean very hard. If you are trying to get up to speed fast, it will throw your head back when it shifts. After driving through town it will actually make your neck sore if you aren't ready for the shifts. I know other people that have had the same truck with a rebuilt engine and they all said it's the same way. I don't really know how to describe it. It doesn't have trouble shifting, it just shifts very fast and pushes the truck when it shifts. Shifts at 3000RPM It's quite annoying and sometimes painful, why does it shift like this after a rebuild? Is there any way to fix it?
