Trip from Houston to Greece?

I was thinking of planning an elaborate trip for next summer, but opening an account and start saving now. Out of all the elaborate trips I could think of, I thought of Greece! The thing is, I know nothing about foreign travel, or the costs.
I was hoping before I start heavy research, I could get an idea of if it's worth the time, effort, and money.

How much would it cost?
Is Greece a nice place to pick?
Stuff like that.
