trying to burn files from the computer on to a dvd disk?

okay so i have some files on my computer and i really would like on a DVD, problem is i don't know how to do it or what program to use. its so confusing I've tried using some windows program but it doesn't work. any suggestions or advice would be very appreciated thanks in advance!

It seems to me that you need a good DVD burner program. there are quite a few good ones that you can download of the web.

Some of these I haven't used before so be careful.
