trying to burn .mds files on DVD using alcohol 120?

I downloaded a PC game as a torrent and it came out to be an mds/mdf file. i downloaded alcohol 120 and then tried burning the file on the DVD but it didnt work, when i click start it says please insert blank disc. i tried using a CD and it worked fine, the only reason I cant use the CD is cuz the file is bigger than 700 MB. so does anyone know how to do it?...
