Uncomfortable with PDA with my girlfriend...?

Yesterday I went on my first date with my very first girlfriend. It was a movie date, and we kissed in the theater, nothing too major... (Oh, what am I talking about, it was my first kiss! It was AMAZING!) ...but it wasn't like we were making out or anything. xD We were in the back row where no one could see us, so it was all very comfortable and easy and easy for me... until the movie ended.

Once we were out of the theater, she kept trying to hold my hand and kiss my cheek and stuff like that, and it made me very uncomfortable. Now, I know that some people just really aren't into PDA, but... I think that if I was straight and had been with a guy, I wouldn't have been nearly as nervous. Honestly, I think I'm scared of someone seeing me and my girlfriend together and causing trouble. I've heard so many terror stories about gay bashing, and really... I just scared of something bad happening.

So, is my fear rational? Should I be worried? Or should I just suck it up and hold my girlfriend's hand like I really, really want to...

It's definitely understandable. I am not with someone, but if I were I would definitely feel the same way. Explain to her, I am sure she would understand.

yeah im not comfortable with pda with a girlfriend either. i have dated girls that were comfortable being out and tried forcing me out and it was horrible. i think its baby steps. slowly you will become more comfortable with it. eventually you will stop caring what people thought about your relationship because at the end of the day it is about you 2 not about anyone else and their feelings.

Society and they're opinion can go fuck themselves. If you love your girlfriend like so much you shouldn't give a damn. Being with someone you truly love is important. That's what's up ! ~
