You can still use it. Unlocking means that you do not have to use just a T-Mobile SIM card in it. You can now use any SIM card from any service provider. However, since it is unlocked, if you switch carriers some of the services may not work (such as data service or picture/video messaging) and they may not provide technical support for your device.
