I've been at this all night now, trying to figure out what happened!
First, I'm on Windows Vista. IE asked me to update to 8 from 7 today, but when I did, I couldn't get an internet connection. I checked to see if my firewall was blocking it, but it wasn't! Then, I tried to go on my Firefox. It worked for awhile, but then it automatically updated and the same thing happened! No internet. Now, my Yahoo Messenger and MSN Messengers work along with some other programs. But my iTunes, IE, and Firefox won't connect to the internet. Any insight as to how I can fix this would be helpful (I tried a system restore 3 times, but each time an error occurred!).
