I'm thinking of upgrading my regular receiver to a DVR receiver. I found the R16 Ird-dvr Recorder for a really cheap price and I wanna buy it but once I buy it am I going to have to call DirecTV and have them activate it and what fees am I going to have to pay? Also, I heard something about having to renew my contract or something. Can somebody explain all of this to me in as much detail as possible?
Oh and another thing. Is the the R16 a good receiver to have because I don't have an HDTV and I just want something that I can use to record my shows
