Heres some background information:
I bought my x10 mini pro back in october 2010. I use my x10 mini pro mostly for texting. In the past, the conversations with some contacts have taken a while (10 seconds or more) to load when I had clicked the contacts name. Also, my text messages to the contact, and their text messages to me, would often deliver late, or not at all. Sometimes when I received a message from the contact, half of the message would have merged with a previous message that the contact may have sent me over a month ago that I had deleted. The reason for this was because our conversation usually consisted of 1500 texts or more. This problem was easily solved when i deleted our conversation.
In the messaging application on my phone (the original that comes with the phone), i had about 70 conversations in total, each with a different contact. Today, i was texting someone and then i exited the application. When i went back onto the application it said:
"You don't have any conversations yet. Tap New message to start one."
This message is the same message that appeared when i bought my phone. Basically, all the texts had been wiped from my sd card/phone.
I don't think there is any link between the fact that this has happened and my phone used to rarely not receive texts from a contact that i had a long conversation with. I just thought i'd mention the fact that this used to happen, in case the problem that i experienced today happened becuase there were too many conversations (even though most weren't as long as 1000 texts - like before)
I don't really mind that my conversations have gone, because I never really read them and they will easily fill up again. What's annoying is that my phone has randomly erased all of my texts and I dont want this to happen again in the future. Atleast if it does, hopefully i will know why and can stop this.
I just thought i'd mention, that nothing else on my phone has ever suddenly been erased, such as games, apps, contacts etc. I have 'Avg Anti-Virus Pro' on my phone, and no viruses or anything have been found, the phone is "clean".
Also, incase this has any importance, my phone battery drains quickly (just from texting), and I have to charge it every morning. Sometimes, even twice a day (if i've been making phone calls and playing games).
I never sync my phone.
and I have now installed the 'SMS Backup & Recovery" application incase this happens again.
My memory status is as follows:
(Phone)
Total inernal storage memory = 211.8MB
Available internal storage memory = 64.9MB
(Memory/SD card)
Total external storage memory = 7.4GB
Available external storage memory = 5.7GB
My network is O2-UK
My android firmware is version: 1.6
(incase this helps)
Has anyone had this problem?
Has anyone else had any similar problems?
What could be done to fix this?
Thanks
