Using custom ringtones with iphone4 ios 5?

I used my "ringtone maker app" the same like before the update but now my ringtones are not syncing.. is there a way around this?
I also tried going in the ringtones tab and checking "Sync Ringtone" but itll delete all of my songs and everything else.. i deff dont want that to happen.. So any other way around this? Take notes i used a ringtone app, so it should be correct format, i THINK? i just know this app worked great for me before the update..
 
I had the same issue but when i hit the sync ringtones" it didn't delete them...it synced them...lol

what i would do if i where you is go into the ringtones folder and make a copy of them somewhere else..then try syncing...if it erases them...you at least have a copy so you can re add them
