Verizon Chocolate Touch $9.99 data plan?

Can someone set this straight for me? What does the $9.99 data plan entail? I know you have a 25mb allowance but what does that mean? Does surfing the internet eat up data? Or is data used when downloading, sending email, updating social networking pages, etc? Please help!
 
It's actually alot. On the average, if you went to 1000 web pages on the mobile web browser on that phone, it would probably be about 20 MB. I believe you get unlimited mobile email with that data feature, too. Social networking uses some data too. The phones that are made today, you gotta have the data feature, it's incredible what these phones can do....if you're not using the web on your phone, you are missing out!
 
You do not have unlimited mobile email, and you can view way less than 1000 pages- everything that you do online will use up that 25 MB. There's really no way to know how much you'll use- you just have to keep track of it. You can call #3282 to get a text message telling you how much you've used so far
