Was Alice's appearance in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland ever described?

Appearance as in her hair and eye color and what her what her outfit looked like. I read somewhere that her dress was originally yellow. I know there are pictures in the book of Alice wearing a pinafore but was she ever described? Thanks!
 
She is indeed described as wearing a yellow dress and a pinafore. She states her age as 7 and half years old. That is about all for her physical description. She is described as courteous, logical and quite intelligent in addition. There were pictures of her drawn in the edition I read (and am holding right now) but I don't know if they were commissioned by Carroll or added by the publisher in a later edition.
