I have a friend, who has recently put her 11 month old in a forward facing car seat. I was alarmed as I know that it is safer for an infant to be rear facing as long as possible or at least until 1 year no matter what the weight. She got mad about it and basically told me I was not the mother and it was not my place. I am not one to make a confrontation, nor did I want it to sound like I was trying to tell her what to do or how to parent. I was looking out for her family's well-being. I just wanted to make her aware. I know that if I didn't say something I'd feel bad if they got into an accident or soemthing and their daughter was hurt. Was it better that I said someting and have her mad at me or should I have just kept my mouth shut and prayed they weren't in an accident? I rarely say things to people, but the saftey of children erks me.
