weight training...is it ok to spread your sets out throughout the day?

since im hard pressed for time nowadays, do i get the same benefits (ie; muscle building) if i do three sets spread thoughout the day [for example; one set (10 reps) of bicept curls in the morning, one more set during lunch, and one last one when i get home at night] or is it best to do three sets one after the other with minimal rest in between?
